Sterling Basket - help I cant find some of the hallmarks

My grandfather left me a sterling basket, and I know very little about it, I don't know if the hallmarks are clear enough in the photo. The first mark appears to be M & H, underneath it appears to say CoLd, the c and l are elongated. the second is a crown, the third is a lion, but has no face, and the forth is the year which is a U and could be either 1840 or 1912. I assume this is Sterling, and from Sheffield, but other than that I can't tell anything. Underneath the base the numbers 5065 appear, these appear to be machine done and would maybe indicate the 1912 as more probable. I would appreciate some info on this. (I am not ssure I will be able to work out how to send photos - computer illiterate, sorry.)[/i]
