Ok, the first two marks show me this was imported to Sweden, but can not locate anything on the maker. I thought it might be Marthinsen, but that doesn't seem to hold true.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hello
Its not Danish but Norwegian.
NM stands for "Norsk Mønster" (Norwegian pattern) and the maker you can find under http://www.925-1000.com/Fnorway_marks.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I appreciate the information, but I still can not find the silversmith. The 'NM' now makes sense, but the cup is very different from any Marthinsen cup I've seen (double v. single oval, open top fo cup, flat on Marthinsen) and I see no one else who has either the N in a double square or a cup like this one. Am I being dense and missing something (it wouldn't be the first time, I admit). Thanks!

Marthinsen has been in the business of making holloware for 125 years, any firm that lasts that long is one that adapts to changing tastes and you can safely assume there would be a large variety of designs. Consider Jensen or Gorham - you can still buy newly made pieces that were designed in 1905 as well as cutting edge designs from the 21st century.

Yes, you are correct. Then I will safely assume that the mark has shifted a bit and that this is the same. Thanks for you patience!
