If this were English, I'd have no hesitation in calliing it a toddy ladle, but I'm not sure of it's popularity in Sweden.
Anyway, it's 15cm long and has four marks:

One is, I believe, the Swedish three crowns.
An S in a hexagon.
Gohr
830S

Can anyone tell me more about it?

Miles

Hi Miles,
Swedish import marks, made by Carl Cohr of Denmark.

I can supply a little.
The 3 crowns is called katfott. Katfott is swedish for "cats paw" due to the similarity.
Katfott is followed by an S if its silver (today).

And for COHR a very large producer of danish silver and silver plate

Thankyou both very much; do you know what the item is for Hose_dk?
Also, can you narrow the date down? Cohr worked from 1949-1987.

Hi Miles,
Cohr has been in business since 1860 and your piece would date from around that time. see -> http://www.cohrsilver.dk/cohr/index.htm

If it dates to the 1860s then surely the maker must be Ditlev Madsen Cohr, since the website you link says Carl Cohr started in 1883.

I dont know what it is used for. 15 cm you say. I have one 20 cm it is for sauce.
I also have one for punch it is 35 cm.
The 2 that I have are more "clean" at the cup - not all the ????

So I soppose that your is ment for cream.

I went through some old undated (about or before 1900 ??) Cohr photos today, and found one showing this ladle next to a tea strainer with the same kind of handle.

Interesting; could it then perhaps be a small cream ladle for tea?
