I wonder if someone in the forum can help me with this unusual item. It is a silver book shield from a medical book. My guess is late 1600's, early 1700's based on the form of the surgical instruments etched on the shield. The scene is late 17th century also. The marks are what appears to be a bird on a ?branch, a crown type item and a C. I am not sure where in continental europe this is from or what the year might be. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
