Here are some other known journeymen who worked for London silversmiths:-

Francis Wrangham was 47 years of age at the above date.

Crispin Fuller (Grimwade 299-300): as at March 1804
John M'Cure

John M'cure was aged 35 at the above date.

John Lias (Grimwade 1483-4): as at February 1805
Thomas Barwick

At the above date Thomas Barwick had been working as a Journeyman for John Lias for six months, he had previously worked for Lias five years earlier. Barwick was aged 55 at this time and had worked in the trade for forty years.

French leads off the testimony in the 1764 trial of two apprentices. Like the Wintle trial, the verdict is a little unsettling.

Hester Bateman (Grimwade 955,958-61) as at 1778 - 1781
Benjamin Brewood (Breawood) II (Grimwade 128 - 30)

Benjamin Brewood died in December 1781, until the time of his death he had worked in the Bateman workshops for three years. Benjamin's son, Charles, was apprenticed to his father in May 1778 and was a frequent visitor to the Bateman workshops, before and after his father's death. It was during one of these visits, in December 1782, that Charles was accused of stealing a small quantity of silver. He was tried at the Old Bailey, found guilty, and transported for seven years.
