Hi,
Here is another set of Swiss spoons, these I believe are somewhat earlier.
They are about 6" in length and one has what appears to be a different maker.
Any help would be appreciated.

Regards Trev.

Hello, the spoons are from Lausanne. “D B” is Jacques David Louis Bessière. Born in Paris in 1756, mentioned betwen 1791 and 1806 in Lausanne, died (in Lausanne ?) in 1823. His brothers Emmanuel-Rodolphe and Francois-Louis were also active as goldsmiths and jewellers in Lausanne. The other mark is incompletely struck. I believe it is “E P” over “D”. Maker would be the company of Papus & Dautun. Elie Papus was born in 1713 and died in 1793. Pierre-Henri Dautun was born in 1729 and died in 1803. They began working together in 1760 after Dautun had married a sister of Papus’ wife. After Dautun’s death the company was sold to Antoine-Pierre Mercier who continued until 1814, when he sold it to brothers Gély. The workshop of Papus & Dautun was one of the most important in Lausanne at the time. Best wishes, Bahner
