Mystery Dublin Token

Hi,
Georgian tokens of the early 1800's are not uncommon, this due to the severe shortage of coins of the realm at this period of time. Silver sixpences and shillings are somewhat rarer, but this token issued by Johnson, Jeweller, Dublin is for Five Hundred Pounds!
The token is encircled by a sequence of letters, presumably some sort of code to be broken? With five hundred pounds being the prize, maybe? But in the early 1800's this was a vast sum of money.
There are several Johnson/Johnston's recorded in Jackson's in Dublin around this time.
So the questions are what is it? and does anyone know which Johnson this might be?
