I cannot identify the Sterling W mark on this teaspoon. Is it American or European? The engraved pattern is floral with a bird on a branch. Thanks.

Hello. Good work on the pictures.
I believe that is an early mark used by the Wendell Mfg. Company, Chicago, Illinois.
Founded c.1850. Stopped producing flatware around 1900.
Around 1896 they acquired some of the flatware patterns of the Mauser Mfg. Company.
After c. 1900 they produced mostly badges, medals, and jewelry.
Took over Graffe & Stanek c.1940.
Pat.

Hello 2209patrick - Thank you very much. That does look like the mark. I appreciate your help! (forgot to enclose the pics the first time). Many thanks!
