Seriously, there are tendrils and long thin red peppers and other decorative touches that suggest the vegetable kingdom.

Though, its origin having been Tiffany, it probably has a more elegant name recalling classical antecedents.

This shape derived from Greco-Roman pottery vessels.
Another one of my books says these were inspired by peasant's wine skins.
Sorry, no mention of gourds in my references.
