I am hoping the photos will load properly and I will receive some assistance. The item in question is a cigarette case - approximately 2-3/4" wide and approximately 3-1/4" high. Pretty much in perfect condition despite reflections in one of the photographs that may suggest otherwise.

My unknown Maker's Mark is "E & S" followed by the Birmingham Mark, the Sterling Mark and the Date Letter Mark, "B". Cross-referenced, the exact style of the Date Letter Mark matched to the helpful chart from this site and it corresponds to that of the year 1774, that in my humble non-professional estimation makes little historical sense in juxtaposition with cigarettes. In any event I welcome input from those in the know. Thank you.

Probably Edgar & Son and the date letter is most likely to be for 1926.

See this site.
