Last mentioned at Bury Street in 1793 he continued to be assessed to Land Tax there until 1814.
A new tenant was assessed on the property in 1815. As no further information has been found for him this may indicate he had retired from business or died.

John Helbert Israel in partnership with Israel Israel of Saint Mary Axe, in the city of London, merchants, were still around in November 1815 as the were noted as petitioning creditors in the bankruptcy proceedings against George Gray (J. & G. Gray) .

21 October 1773 John Israel of Saint Mary Whitechappel in Middlesex Jeweller paid apprentice indenture duty for Mordecai Levi.

I suspect John Helbert Israel was a nephew of John Israel.
