Gentlemen

A 14 cm teaspoon which I read as St Petersburg, 84, assay master 'Aleksandr Ilyich Yashinkov' 1795-1826 and a maker I.T

Is it genuine?

Am I correct?

Does anybody know the maker and his dates?

Any information would be most welcome including deciphering the inscription.

Regards

Paul

Yes the spoon is genuine. The assayer is A.I. Yashinkov/Yashinov/Yashenkov in St Petersburg. His exact name is not known. The maker IT is a German, Johann Diedrich Tiedemann 1805-1837. He was born 1775 in Bremen and came as a journeyman from Lubeck 1800 to St P. He became master in 1805. He died 4.8.1837. He often got orders from the Royal Court Office.

As to the engraving. I think it is in Cyrillic letters and shows ICC in Cyrillics being ISS in Latin letters. Who that is I cannot know.
