Anna Greta Eker was an important designer at PLUS, the Applied Arts Center of Fredrikstad, Norway that flourished from 1958 until the 1970s. An industrial designer, Eker was born in Finland in 1928, but relocated to Norway in the 1950's. There she married Erling Christoffersen, head of the silver department at Plus and began designing jewelry. Plus produced some remarkable jewelry, the finest examples designed by Eker, Christoffersen and Tone Vigeland. Eker's work can either be organic or geometric in form, it is distinctive in its use of hand hammering and is often mounted with natural uncut polished stones.
