1986 makers mark CH

I cant find this maker for this Sheffield silver and enamel wine bottle collar. Dated 1986 and it appears to be a CH mark. Any idea who it could be? https://i.postimg.cc/WhjhR3xk/IMG-20210701-114652.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/21Sy6tkj/IMG-20210701-114658.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/zVj3qN1P/IMG-20210701-...

Re: Provincial silver beaker

https://i.postimg.cc/3xq5hX1M/IMG-20210126-202336.jpg I think it looks more like a thistle than any other type of flower, and pretty similar to the one eventually used in Scotland. I understand the Catherine Wheel comparison, but do you really think the Thistle image is actually a Thistle? ::: If t...

Re: Provincial silver beaker

That may be so, but the set of marks does exist elsewhere as well, that's what I'm more interested in researching. Here is the extract from the above referenced article, available for public consumption at http://journals.socantscot.org/index.php/psas/article/view/7937/7905 "a most interesting ...

Provincial silver beaker

So the marks on this beaker appear in a 1935 article on Scottish Spoons, but are listed as unidentified, possibly the earliest recorded thistle mark. IN the article the author refers to Jackson who lists the mark (without the thistle) as unattributed possibly Yorkshire circa 1690. This beaker has th...

Wondering if anyone can identify the mark on this box, its IS over a swan. Only a single mark. Not sure if English or Continental, but looks to date around 1800. https://i.postimg.cc/PNTZwRh1/IMG-20210119-130250.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/ZCDyXYNL/IMG-20210119-130357.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/LhDPB36w/...

Renaissance style Aphrodite salt spoons

I found these salt spoons, each marked with a 13 loth mark to the back of the bowl. I found one reference on the internet to a spoon of this identical design in the Solingen Klingenmusuem, but from a photo of a book entry (not sure which book), describing it I think as 16th century Renaissance, with...

Two spoons with unusual marks. One has a key, struck twice and makers marks ER or FR. Other spoon has two script marks. Re: French Art Deco teapot

Sadly those are the clearest pictures I could get. They expand if you click on them, but the marks havent been struck very well, so I can't actually make out many of the letters in the mark even under a loup. I'll see if I can get a clearer one

Anyone know who the maker might be? Marks look like a twin handled urn or vase with writing aboove, possibly ending with AF, the other square mark says Metal Blanc I think. Pretty well amde and stylish so just wondering if anyone might recognise the design as well. Thanks https://i.postimg.cc/R3rGhr...

This silver teapot has a single mark only, which looks like an Exeter 1744 mark, but could be Continental or from somewhere else. Chinese makers mark, tea set

Here is a Chinese silver plated tea set. The mark is quite distinct and the same one that appears on the Wold Hallmarks Overview page, but cant find it in the actual Chinese makers listing. Looks like a silver mark but the brass base metal is showing through. Any information would be most useful. ht...

Here is a silver teapot, looks Scottish in design. Marks are a longboat with AG under the ship, with AS as the makers marks. Provincial silver Sauce boat marks

I found this silver sauce boat with unusual marks. They look like Scottish Provincial, but can't seem to find them. Its an oil lamp, struck twice and AG. Looks to be about 1770 in date or later. Any ideas? https://oi251.photobucket.com/albums/gg311/jok23/IMG_20190422_200228.jpg https://oi251.photobu...

Gorham Water Pitcher

I was wondering if anyone could identify the pattern for this water pitcher. It is dated 1909 and has a number, A7870. It measures about 10.5 inches high. I can't seem to find a similar pattern or other pieces from the set (if it came as part of a set). http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg311/jok23...

Makers mark - not listed

I found this three piece porcelain covered dish and plate with French silver mounts, but I can't find the makers mark on the list of makers on this site. I was wondering if anyone could identify it. It appears to be an A F with a hammer between. I don't know if the porcelain itself is French but I h...

Jersey silver?

I have this spoon with two makers marks (E.J) and a J in an oval. I was wondering if it might be Jersey silver. The shape and manufacture is quite similar to a 1920s Norwegian spoon I have so it could be continental, but I can't find anything about early Norwegian silver and the marks look more prov...

Re: silver knife

I have been doing a bit of research into the marks and the style of the knife. There appear to be two sets of marks dating from different periods. The old marks date from 1775-1801 and include from right to left, the mark of discharge for that period (knot?), what could be the letter N crowned (1776...
