yes i see the double stamping of cartouches to the spoon bowl, i think they look like moscow markings in a degenerate way,i have tested the spoon for silver and it comes up trumps,, its a nicely made piece for a faux assay if you are correct in your assessment, thanks for the pointer :-)

thanks trev, i must say i do find this all so very interesting :)
i have found something relating to its possible maker in a weird book..apparently it could be 'cappeli' from the end of the emanuel II reign in italy, 1870s..
