The medal also has the crab hallmark for silver. Would this narrow down the period it was produced?

Help with a French Maker's Mark on a Military Medal
I purchased this military medal not long ago, and it appears to be gilt silver. There appears to be a crab mark on the V-suspension between the crown and cross, which would be the French small object assay mark.
