Re: Help with J.H. & A. Benedict tongs?
The tongs were manufactured by the wholesale firm of Hall & Hewson in Albany NY. The pair of Benedicts, likely father and son, were retail jewelers in Skaneateles NY. The senior, J. H., had been the partner of Asa Munger, c 1818-1820 in Auburn NY. Wow! Awesome. Thank you, I couldn't find any in...

Help with J.H. & A. Benedict tongs?
I found a pair of tongs, probably for a pickle caster or similar. They are marked 'J.H. & A. Benedict' with 3 hallmarks, an Eagle, 'H' and a bust. I've been researching, and have found nothing. I'm guessing these may be English, but if they are not please let me know and I will delete this post ...

Help Identifying this Silverplate mark on an old tea/coffee pot please!
I picked this up over the weekend. It's either worn or just wasn't stamped evenly (or both) and I can't identify it.
Looks like it may be one or two anchors over an 'S'?

Need some help with Testing silver
I picked up a couple of very old candlesticks last week. They were in very poor condition. I got them cheap at a thrift store, so figured what the heck. I'm going to scrap them if they have silver content to help fund my collection. I just got a fresh order of JSP silver and gold testing acid, and t...

Necklace with unknown mark. Anyone know?
I recently picked up this necklace.
It is marked 925 as well as a marking that looks like two sideways 'V's with a dot in the center.
Any help in identifying this would be appreciated.
