I really need to know about this piece, I know it isn't very good silver, it's plate of some kind but I have really looked hard and I can't find anything on it so please someone out there help me? Thanks so much.

I think a very old butter knife but not sure of the real purpose. I got this piece in a box with a few other pieces of sterling but can't figure out where, when or who. I did get the Birmingham part but the maker is what was stumping me and also the date but I will except your word on that, sounds about right and so dose the makers name, hey you could just be right and that would be great. I got this one about 6 or 7 months ago and have not been able to figure out the maker because of the worn marks, maybe you can help, I would really appreciate it.
