C&N bookmark marked silver

C&N bookmark - silverplate?

Thanks, for that. If it is from New Zealand, does that mean that Crisford and Norris imported/sponsored it .... or isn't it their maker's mark at all?

The handle is a mottled green smooth stone - moss agate????

I have another with the same C&N SILVER mark with a mother of pearl handle in a more sword shape with a hilt. They actually do look like silver.

JD modern makers mark

Many thanks Mike for the contact - JD was apparently the mark of Dix Jewellery, trading as Harrison Brothers & Hewson. They first registered at the London assay office in 1958; their registration expired in 2006. I suspect you have also solved the ownership of another of my posts relating to HBH...

Sorry, I do seem to be taking up a lot of topic space ... but I have nearly finished cataloguing my bookmarks/fruit knives and I think this is my last query! This sliding blade silver fruit knife made in Birmingham has a makers mark which I think is THV and a fairly curly e date mark which is probab...
