Re: Silver earrings - Maker MG - Unknown pseudo mark - ID?
Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction! I've just looked through all Austro-Hungarian hallmarks here and the shape on the earrings looks like the lion head hallmark (though I would never have thought it's a lion!). Also, the shape of the mark is a long straight line on one side, al...

Re: MYSTERY MARK ON HENRY MATTHEWS SILVER BOTTLE HOLDER
Hi, I cannot solve the mystery, just wanted to add that the number is 64. I have a similar bottle with this hallmark. I thought it may be a pattern/model number but your bottle is different so I'm not sure now. Sorry I can't be of more help. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Z3DiAKtQFIc/UfiRTa9O1jI...

Re: Hallmark and number 64
There is another set of marks on the stopper, but I think it may be a replacement, it has a different maker's mark, also illegible. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Dd22J2zvtaE/UP2mRWwM3EI/AAAAAAAAssc/zeurFffyGao/s461/DSCF9143.JPG https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-61Ivs7Tlj_k/UP2mS3_QrgI/AAAAAAAA...

Hi,oel wrote:Hi,
Could you please show us the anchor for Birmingham?
Oel.
Thanks for stopping by. Unfortunately I cannot capture the anchor with my old camera, it's the punch between the maker's mark and the lion, almost worn off but visible under a jeweller's loupe.

Hallmark and number 64
Hello, I'd appreciate any info on this hallmark and maker's mark. It has a Birmingham anchor, the date letter is rubbed, the maker's mark looks like HIM or HTM and I could not find any info on the internet. But what I'm more curious about is the number 64 next to the maker's mark. Any help on this, ...

Re: Norwegian Enameled Sølje--Silver or Brass?
The 830S fineness marking would seem to indicate Norwegian manufacture; I have not seen a Hammer piece quite like that, although it is similar to his style; perhaps Clement Berg might be a possibility? Also, I am still not convinced that the German retailers were not actually marketing and selling ...

Re: Norwegian Enameled Sølje--Silver or Brass?
Hi all, One learns something everyday, thank you Trev for posting these interesting ad pages. I have a solje brooch that I always thought was by Marius Hammer as I've seen an absolutely identical brooch marked by MH. Mine has no maker's mark, just a 830S hallmark. Now that I come across this thread,...

Re: Help ID German maker's mark 800DM
I"ve seen similar pieces listed as Middle Eastern which makes it hard to date since many of their newer pieces are made just like the older ones. Hi, Thanks for your reply. I thought they used Arabic scripts in the Middle East, not Latin alphabet... I'm a bit confused now. The Indians could us...

Hello, I came across a pendant in what I think is the Skonvirke style, it's hallmarked 830S and also has two other punches that must be maker's or designer's marks. Antique cruet set marks ID help please
Hi all, I bought a cruet set recently thinking it was just silver plated, but I've found some marks that look similar to English hallmarks though not standard, so it seems. I would really appreciate any help with identification of this piece. On the inner part of the base there are three marks: a Go...
