Hello,
The description of the marks sounds more like that they are the results of manufacturing technique rather than identifying the maker, but we cannot be sure without photos.

Hello, I do have my doubts that this set is of German origin. This set appears to me to have been reproduced from the 1937 Disney production and as Disney have a well-known reputation for jealously guarding their intellectual rights, then the apparent lack of a Disney copyright mark on these figures...

Hello,
The 18g mark denotes the actual amount of silver deposited onto a set of 12 spoons and 12 forks. This style of marking is usually associated with the French silverware industry.

Hello,
Yes indeed, it would be good to see an enhanced photo of these marks. Barnard's plating works were, I believe, short lived, having been set up under the supervision of the great Michael Farraday who was related to Barnard family by marriage.

Hello,
The style of spoon and the mark indicate that it of Dutch manufacture.
A very good article on Continental silverplate numbers can be seen here: http://www.925-1000.com/a_platenumbers.html

Hello,
I believe you are supposed to provide photos when a mark indentification is requested, but in the meantime you may find the answer at: http://www.925-1000.com/silverplate_R.html

Hello Qrt.S,
Thank you for obtaining the clarifiaction. I had previously thought the Guilloche method was the application of emamel over an engine turned surface. There's always something new to learn.

Hello, You state "Full size picture would not help", You sound very sure, so it sounds like you have already done much searching with no avail. The positioning and orientation on band marks can sometimes give a clue to the trade of source, stick/cane makers, umbrella/parasol makers, pipema...

Hello,
Without any maker's mark there is really no clue at all to the origin of this ashtray. The arms shown, as I'm sure you know, are those of the French city of Orléans and this piece would have probably been made for the tourist trade.

Hello, Thank you for supplying the additional images. I cannot add much, except to say that I suspect that these are early British electro plate. The cartouche variations are typical of that of British plater's marks. If I find any other information about this mark, before anybody else does, I'll up...

Hello,
Unless the business end of the fork is hallmarked, then only the ferule will be silver. This combination of a plated piece with a silver ferule is quite normal.
Suspect the dating of of this piece will be somewhat later.

Hello,
These spoons will be silver plated. It was the popular choice as from the later part of the 19th century of English silver platers to name their products with colourful titles such as Bengal Silver, Potsoi Silver, Brazilian Silver, Sydney Silver, etc., etc. as a marketing technique.

Hello,
I cannot help much, but boxes such as these were popular in the 1960's and I believe the source of origin was Japan. Your example appears to be made ready for presentations at a golf club.
