Re: Family Crest In a Gold Ring
Sorry I left that info out in my original post. I do not have any history on the ring and the only marking is 585. Best I can do is offer more detailed photos of the ring perhaps this will help in determining age and origin? https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.j...

Re: Can't seem to identify this mark
Based on what I've read and just the look of the piece I would guess that it was made in the late 40's early 50's but again, that is just a guess. There is another band that looks very similar to yours posted on another website that claims theirs to be from the 30's. His career lasted some 40 years ...

Re: Can't seem to identify this mark
Hi there. I believe RSS are Rafael Ruiz Saucedo initials. He worked with both Antonio Pineda and with William Spratling. You can find more detailed info on him in Bille Hougart's revised edition of his book: "The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks".

Re: James Deakin pattern numbers
I found some information on a website that has pictures of different hallmarks used by James Deakin & Sons and lists dates of when some of them were submitted to the Assay office. You might be able to use that to narrow down the age of your piece. The link to the website is below. http://www.sil...
