Well thank you for your help, Trev. I had looked at Exeter but was unable to determine whether it was correct. I will look at your suggestions to see if I can improve my deciphering abilities!
This is a wonderful site and I am sure I shall be needing your expertise again.

Assay Marks by a beginner

I have no idea what they are or what they mean and would be grateful if someone could explain their meaning to me please. There appears to be a makers mark, ahead(!), a lion pass...
