Made by Saart Brothers and marked sterling. They are so small and the bristles so fine that I can't imagine they would be used for hair. They don't do anything to mine and it is baby fine. Thoughts? Thanks!

I agree. I just got a 20x jewelers loupe and finally could see the crescent and crown. (The crown looks like a pumpkin! I have pie on my mind). But the 950 is the oddity. and the maker is a mystery.
I was thinking it could also be for a delicacy or side dish that would be tainted if mixed with another food. Escargot or something. Who knows. I am going to go with butter. My stomach runs away from me often times! Thanks for your input. MG
