Re: Is this old or new? Real Antique or Not?
My apologies and my very best compliments to the OP, whose photos are of such truly professional quality that they would be easily mistaken for those of a power seller on one of the online auction sites mentioned in the original post. As my earlier response noted, the marks photographed have alread...

Re: Is this old or new? Real Antique or Not?
I think that wholesale queries about items "similar to this one" appearing on online auction sites comes perilously close to breaking the Forum's posting rules, to wit: "3. No linking to auctions or posting photos from another's auction ." As the Forum is devoted primarily to th...

Is this old or new? Real Antique or Not?
Hello, I have seen a couple of sellers both on eBay and Etsy with a similar ring to this one (please see attached photograph), referring to the ring as 'Antique' and dating to about the 1910-1920s. The ring looks to me as Chinese Turquoise set on silver (not sure about fineness), with a mesh-like st...

Help with Cyrillic hallmark, please
Hello, I have this ring with what I think are Cyrillic letters stamped on the outside of the band, I cannot quite understand what it means, so I would appreciate some help please. The inside is simply stamped with '925'. I attach some photos for your consideration. Many thanks. https://www.925-1000....

Help with a ring, please
Hello All, I saw an old thread with the same hallmarks as this ring but there was no conclusive maker for it (here is the old thread: http://925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23045 ) I thought I would ask again, and I hope that the hallmark pic is clear enough. It looks like "STE" with an...

Re: American Maker? Victorian or Newer?
'Sterling/950 is very common on Japanese silver, and most silver standards, including American, define 'sterling' as at least or a minimum of 925/1000 fineness. These engraved hinged bangles were very popular, made in various countries, really have little doubt that this one is Japanese... ~Cheryl ...

Re: American Maker? Victorian or Newer?
Believe it's most likely mid 20th century Japanese, trademark is unclear, but looks like it might depict Mt Fuji... ~Cheryl I never thought of that - THANKS! Another odd thing I found is that it is stamped 950, but I thought that Sterling is 925? Rather strange - have you seen any pieces stamped li...

Thank you - I think you may be right, since it's Irish it wouldn't be unusual for it to be Connemara Marble.dognose wrote:Hi Missfortescue,
I agree with Oel, There should be another mark identifying the maker.
The stone, I'm hopeless on these, may be Connemara marble.

Hello, and thank you for all your help.
I am not sure what this ring is, or the gemstone, and these marks do not appear to be English.
I'd appreciate some help please. Many thanks.
