Silversmith ? Sterling Matche's Case
HI all, I assume this case is for matches. It is small (5 cm tall when closed) and pretty thin. Made in silver (sterling) and possibly from early 20th Century. Mark suggests it is German but I really don't know. Ideas? Thank you ! http://www.artifactcollectors.com/images/fbfiles/images/IMG_2893.jpg ...

Re: Silver and Gold. Mysterious Box.
Interesting ! I assume my case is for cards then and probably dated circa 1923. Right ?

Silver and Gold. Mysterious Box.
Hi all, Today I bring a small box apparently from early 19th or 18th Century. I don't know its purpose. Seems can hold cards but I doubt it. Maybe it is for cigarettes? I think it is to thin. Anyways, marks show it is sterling and 12 and 18 K Gold. I also see a cryptic manufacture's logo where I rea...

Re: Silver (Sterling) Vanity Box
Thank you Trev! ... I was searching the web to find some extra info regarding date but I didn't find anything useful. I am fine with Vanderbilt's working years. Could you tell me? I assume he is American, right?
Sorry, I will take care of the 7'' next time.

Silver (Sterling) Vanity Box
Hi all, Today I bring this small vanity box (8 cm long), made in sterling silver. It is monogrammed. Mark shows an "A" inside a "V" - or something. It also comes with a mirror and three compartments, to hold who knows what. Here the photos go. I appreciate your comments. Thank yo...

Re: A1000.
HI hose_dk, I didn't clean it completely yet but i did some rubbing with a piece of fabric + zinc oxide and it became shinny as silver does, besides i feel it heavy. It Could be alpaca but I doubt it because that pot is part of a collection where everything is silver ... or porcelain. Real deals. An...

Re: A1000.
Hi Amena, I think it is solid silver but my eye is not that trained. I see no scratch or typical damage when plated. I still wonder why Italians weren't more explicit with marking. A1000 seems to me a quality control mark regarding silver content. Right? And that's it? I have other items that only s...

A1000.
Hi all, I was searching for mark A1000 in this forum but I didn't find to much, so I have to post my own A1000 pot. Curiously A1000 is the only mark I can find on it. I see I am not the only one. Here I also read that it is an italian mark for stainless steel but I am pretty sure my piece is silver....

WMF ? Help with pots
HI all, I bring a couple of pots i believe they are WMF but, as you can see in the mark, there is a second M, what made me wonder if it is really WMF or "W.MF.M" ?. On the other hand I/O is a mark for export, right? Clues about date? Thanks in advance. Vale Pics: http://la-valia.wallinside...
