Sterling Spoon - Silversmith??
I looked at the various patterns and the closest I get is Unger Bros, the only markings I see are "Sterling" and a letter to the left of the word sterling, perhaps a "G" ?? Please note the slight curvature in the transition portion of the spoon. Can you help identify the maker an...

Re: London Date Mark?
The spoons are made of thin gauge silver which leads me to believe they are not plated, perhaps they are not British?AG2012 wrote:Hi,
There is NO full set of marks for London silver. Spoons are most likely silver-plated.
Further search is needed to identify the maker.

London Date Mark?
I am having a tough time understanding the marking on these spoons, is the shield with an "s" inside the date mark for London 1896 or is it something else? In addition the silversmith marks are puzzling, if you turn the marks 180 degrees it looks like it spell RICO?? Any ideas as to date a...

Pair of Spoons Marked C. Cook
Did the spoons belong to Capt. Cook ?? Just a joke. Actually I have no idea who they belonged to, the pattern is 1820's correct? The C. Cook is a silversmith? or Individual?

Gorham Sterling - What is it?
I have this unusual sterling Gorham clam shell case with a compass inside, has a loop on top for attaching to a chain perhaps? The hallmark dates the piece to 1886. My question to you is.................what is it? What purpose did it serve? https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-100...

From what I can gather Johann Franz was active until 1899, this cigarette case and lighter are from the 1940's. Was there another Johann Franz??
