Hi,
What is the consensus regarding the best continental silver marks book? I have Silver Marks of the World (Divis) and International Hallmarks on Silver (Tardy) but are there any others out there that would be of use?
Any thoughts on country specific books would also be welcome.

Snuff Spoon or Toy Spoon
Hi there, Does anyone know the difference between a 'snuff spoon' and a 'toy spoon' or miniature spoon. Indeed, is there even a difference? I have seen them catalogued as both in the past but cannot discern the difference. Presumably a snuff spoon was made to fit into an etui or snuff box, and a toy...

Re: What is this?
Hi,
This looks like a mount from a cut glass bottle. The pierced part would have wrapped around the top of the bottle, the hole is for a stopper and the lips are for pouring from. They are typical on scent bottles but as yours has pouring lips it could have been from a decanter.

Difference between fruit knives and fork and dessert...
Hi,
As the title suggests really. What is the difference between fruit knives and forks and dessert knives and forks (often cased with mother of pearl handles etc).
I notice some have a slightly serrated edge to the top side of the blade. Would this be for fruit?
Thanks for your thoughts!

Scottish Provinical Mark - punch ladle
Hi there,
Can anyone help with this Scottish mark? It is on the stem of a punch ladle. The bowl is not marked. I am not sure if it is B&I or B&F.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Japanese Makers Mark on Bowl
Thanks for your help. That is brilliant. The bowl is incredible. I wonder how they managed to get the the flowers to stand out so far. Did they start working the sheet from flat or do you think they cast a sheet into the rough form and then start embossing/chasing the details in. The flowers are alm...
