Peruvian Sterling Silver Teapot - Unidentified Maker
Hey gang! This is definitely a stab in the dark, but I was posting to see if anyone recognised the makers mark on my Peruvian Sterling Silver Teapot and Sugar Bowl. Clearly stamped on each piece is "Sterling 925 Peru", however I can't attribute the makers mark. To me it looks like a stagge...

Unidentified - French Ladle with Possible Swiss Hallmark?
I had recently come across this 19th Century French Silver Ladle, by Guillaume Deninger, however was intrigued by a mark I was not familiar with. The piece is marked with a French Mercury export mark, alongside a mark of a half eagle, and key in a crest, above the initials J.D. So this mark is defin...

Unidentified - Scorpion Hallmark
I have an unidentified hallmark on the band of a rose gold diamond ring. The mark appears to be that of a Scorpion. The piece acid tests at a minimum of 10 karat gold. I had originally believed the ring was French, as I bought it with a very similar piece, which had standard french hallmarks. I have...

Re: Unidentified - Wheat or Barley Hallmark
Hi Trev, Just wanted to confirm that the wheat mark was indeed from Yugoslavia. I had the piece looked at by some of the top valuers in Australia, and was only able to find one who recognised the marks. I believe they are referred to as 'Grain Marks'. The roman numerals on the left side did indicate...

Unidentified - Wheat or Barley Hallmark
I have a very unusual hallmark on a piece of gold filigree jewellery. There are two marks on the piece, both of which occur twice. They're very small, and are both incomplete (yet luckily the two occurrences make up the whole mark). The main mark appears to be a stalk or sheath of wheat or barley, w...

900 Silver Footed Bowl - Rooster and Crown Marks
Hi there! I have a wonderful 900 silver bowl, and my first impression of it was Mexican (I have a few other bowls by Sanborns which have near-identical floral motifs), however I'm unfamiliar with the hallmarks! I even had my silversmith look at it, and he came to the same conclusion that I did - tha...
