Re: Fork - Why are the outer tines cut at the root?

Length is 9 inches and width at widest point is 1 1/4 inches. From one angle the small perforation and separation looks like the beak of a bird.

Re: Fork - Why are the outer tines cut at the root?

Thank you for your comment. It is interesting, but I don't find any sardine forks with the center support or the suspended outer tines. Maybe there is another purpose?

Fork - Why are the outer tines cut at the root?

Trying to understand use of this fork with the outer tines unattached near the root of the fork, but still attached to the adjacent tine and to the middle support. Any ideas would be appreciated. What then is this fork to be used for?

Re: Swiss or American?

https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg Finally the right photo! Please disregard the other misapplied photos. This photo shows the three crowns on the left, which I believe is Swiss. The BT confused me as it does not appear to follow Swiss marking. Also, it is strange that the marking is on the top...

Re: Swiss or American?

Admin. edit - incorrect images deleted. This small 5 1/2" spoon is strange the makers marks are on the top and the monogram on the bottom. Why? The three crowns appear to identify this as Swiss, but the BT which follows does not appear to follow what I find as the Swiss marking system. Any Com...

Re: identify mark & bowl use

Cheryl, thank you for solving my question on the makers mark. In regards to size, the bowl is 1 3/4" tall and 3 1/2" across the top. The bowl depth is 1 1/4". It might be too small for a sugar dish and probably too large for a salt bowl.

Edelweiss sterling spoon mark identification needed

The edelweiss enamel led be to believe this would be hallmarked with a Swiss or Austrian markr, but going through the on-line information has not shown anything close to these three marks. the center mark looks like a horse head facing left. Hope someone can give me recognition of the source. https:...

identify mark & bowl use

This looks like a sugar bowl and the color of the enamel led me to think of Tiffany, but the marks do not match anything I could find. The tip of one leg shows sterling, the other the hallmarks and the tip of another the part number. Any help would be appreciated. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg....
