Candlestick pseudo marks?
Hello, Finally I took some nice pics of my candlestick marks and hopefully someone can help me to identify it. Why I put them in German subforum? No idea but somehow I have a feeling that it is a Hannau pseudo marking. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg Tha...

Re: Got a general question
Why I didn't think about nickel... OFC it was pretty common base metal for pocket watches. So my questions are answered if you have silver as base metal you don't really need to apply any gold finish on it, common sense. I have a cartier wrist watch that is silver and gold plated but that one has al...

Re: Got a general question
That is very interesting. I emailed Eterna with the serial numbers and the watch movement is dated in 1930. When I look at the surface of the case with a magnifying glass, it seems very homogeneous and I cant see any other metal even where the chain was supposed to be attached. I see this guy Dueber...

Got a general question
When a maker applies a gold filled on a silver base metal, the item must be marked for silver content? Im asking this because I have a pocket watch marked "Dueber 14K gold filled" in the case but it really looks like silver, it is from 1900-1910 and has no corrosion at all and I dont see a...

Magnus Aase "NM"?
Hello, I found this souvenir spoon with a mark that seems to be for Magnus Aase, Norway. It has the letters "NM" and a number "60" stamped. Im guessing it is a good quality silverplated spoon because it looks great after soft cleaning. I have a question about the number "60&...

Weird Crucifix
Hello guys Im looking for any info about this crucifix that was found hidden inside a door from Germany. It is around 8cm large and solid. I believe, however, that it was made by casting but it doesn't look like a serial manufactured item. If there is any info about the silver mark "0.900"...

Re: Far Eastern Box
Hi Trev.
Found a pretty similar one. Seems that the design is related to long/eternal life, so it is probably a medicine box.

Re: How to remove small scratches?
Thank you guys,
I wont be removing lot of silver for the small scratches so I would better make it shiny and be more careful.
Best regards.

I have tested some cleaning techniques but I am unable to remove the small scratches, even if I use strong abrasive compounds with cotton cloths, they dont fade or disappear. It is possible to take them out in home or I should leave this small scratches to a pro? See the scratches (lines) I am conce...
