Typical! - as soon as I had posted this I thought of another way of looking for this man and I believe I've found him: William A Hudson, 'silver chaser.'

It looks as though he was born in 1806. If anyone knows anything about him or his work, please do let me know.

I'm interested in Linsley because he cased (at least) two watches for Ralph Gout, a watchmaker whom I have studied in detail.
