OK, I took a picture of a few pieces I just grabbed and a closeup of the mark on one of the knives.

Let me know what you think. Thank you!

Even if it is not a "desireable" pattern, why would you want to scrap a stainless set. Any old complete flatware set has more value than scrap. If the aesthetics don't appeal to you, they may well appeal to another. Regards, Tom Hello Tom and Bahner, I sure chose the wrong term with the &...

German silverware (but not silver) question.

Hello, I know this is probably not the right forum but I am hoping one of the silver collectors will be able to answer my question. We have inherited a complete set of silverware from around 1930. The history we know about it is that it is one of the very first sets made of stainless steel. My grand...

Dear Bahner,

thank you for the information! I thought Deutsches Reich only covered the "dark years" but of course it was the Reich before then too.
The geographical region fits as our ancestors came from what is now Poland.

Another unknown mark on an old German piece

This serving piece is another single piece from a recently inherited estate. I have found some arrow mark on this site (Robbe &Berking) but not this bent arrow. Is it just a variation of R&B or something different alltogether? Thank you! http://x11.putfile.com/3/8520040311-thumb.jpg http://x...

Need help with dating an antique Dresden set.

We have this old set of knife fork and spoon that was acquired in the postwar confusion in Germany. The maker is easily identified as the goldsmith's guild in Dresden. We were told it was old when it was traded in 1945 so we guess it is pre-WWII. Can anybody give us an idea of the period it was made...

Unknown German mark from 1930-1945 era

We have three sets of spoons with the D.R.G.M. mark. I believe that says "Deutsches Reich geschuetzte Marke" and puts them in the 1930-1945 era. Is that correct? The maker's mark is an F in a circle (see pics). Does anybody know what this means? Frankfurt/Oder??? Thank you! http://x10.putf...
