Chinese Silver Ring w/ Dragons and Characters
Hello! I have fascinating ring with raised dragons on the sides, and Chinese characters on the front. It is hallmarked inside, but somewhat worn. I've done my best to photograph the marks. The ring is very light weighing under 5 grams. I'd like to know what the Chinese characters mean on the front. ...

Wm Rogers Pickle Fork Flower Pattern ID help
Greetings, I'm hoping for some help in finding the name of this pattern. It is a long pickle fork marked with an eagle, Wm Rogers, star. I'm not sure what the flower is, I tried looking for patterns with pansies and orchids with no luck. It looks like Aesthetic style. I think the mark is for one of ...

LC Bailey Silver Spoon- Coin Silver?
Hello, I've been helping my Aunt ID her old spoons, and one is a large Fiddle pattern spoon marked LC Bailey. We learned that this silversmith operated from 1850 to 1870, in Calais, Maine. The only mark is LC Bailey. I'm curious if others think this is Coin Silver? Is there a way to be sure? Thanks ...

Looking to ID hallmarks on Spoon
Greetings, I've been helping my Aunt with some of her silver spoons, and have been unable to identify the marks on this spoon. It measures about 4 3/4" long, is gold toned, and has four marks on the back of the handle. There is a star, and a cross, so I thought perhaps Spain or Malta, but these...

Re: Tea Strainer with Sailing Ship Mark and HIB&S.. Denmark?
It is very interesting to me, each city having its own mark. Helsingfor has a similar crest even today with a ship on the water. I think I have seen the prik marks on other pieces, like the numbers are written with dots. I found this heavily tarnished at a second hand sale in the north east of the U...

I posted a couple of embedded pics, too. Thanks for the info about Tonder

Re: Tea Strainer with Sailing Ship Mark and HIB&S.. Denmark?
Thank you for the reply, Warren! I wonder why this mark is so crisp. I have seen only several examples of the Tonder mark and they look rather blob-like. It is interesting that there are two ship marks, also. Hopefully one day we can shed some light on the HIB & S maker.

Tea Strainer with Sailing Ship Mark and HIB&S.. Denmark?
I'm trying to get more information about this tea strainer. It is marked with HIB & S, with two, three masted sailing ship marks. After searching the forum I found that the town of Tonder (Tondern?) in Denmark used the ship mark before 1863. This strainer measures about 19cm long and 6.3cm wide....

Re: Sterling Silver Tulips Holloware -Unknown Marks
Thank you for the reply. An egg cup/ salt cellar is an intriguing idea. I didn't have any luck searching for a viking ship mark, I too had thought that was a possibility. I thought is might have been a serpent or "Nessie" at one time, but didn't get anywhere on that avenue either. Apprecia...

Sterling Silver Tulips Holloware -Unknown Marks
I'm happy to join the forum! I haven't had any luck identifying the maker of this, or what its intended use is. It measures 7 inches tall. The lower tulip measures 3 inches wide, and the higher tulip measures 2 1/2" wide. I thought it was a votive candle holder, but really can't find anything l...
