Re: Tongue Scraper
Thank you very much for your responses. The information was very helpful. What a strange utensil, the Victorians had such a wide range of one purpose tools. Thanks!

Tongue Scraper
Hello, I am wondering if anyone can help me identify where this tongue scraper was made. It appears to be silver, but has no hallmarks. It is decorated with various designs which made me think likely Mexican or South American. I am also curious if anyone has any idea how old it is. https://www.925-1...

Re: Silver? decorated plate
I am very excited that it appears to be authentic, if anyone thinks otherwise please let me know, I like to know if items in my collection are real or not. I found it at a thrift store, and when I picked it up my heart skipped a beat. I didn't know what it was, but it just felt right! I was so excit...

Hello, This silver spoon has me a little confused. It is marked ?W, King, Lion passant, Newcastle, Crowned leopard, Y . The year date in particular puzzles me since there are several almost identical Y hallmarks for Newcastle. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg...

Unknown maker mark on sugar shovel
Hello again, I have this sugar shovel and have had difficulty determining who the maker was. It is marked Leopard, lion passant, R (1852 I believe), Queen Victoria. I think the makers mark might be Charles Rawlings and William Summers, but it seems to have an unusual half moon above it? Any help wou...

Broad-arrow mark on sterling spoons
Hello everyone, This is my first post to the forum. I recently purchased these two identical serving spoons and was wondering if I could get your opinions. They are both marked lion passant, crowned leopard (London), N (1808 I believe), and King George III (assuming it is 1808). The makers mark is o...
