Re: Near identical patterns, different hallmarks
The smaller spoon has the letter G followed by 925/1000 (as shown). Any ideas? I've scoured the web and can't find a sterling hallmark that is just a "G". And I haven't found examples of the 925 over 1000 mark either. I have established that the spoons are of a fiddleback design and some ...

Near identical patterns, different hallmarks
https://i.postimg.cc/02kLphS4/Both-Spoons.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/PrS0KKz5/G-Hallmark.jpg The above two spoons have a similar pattern. The larger spoon has the normal Gorham hallmark -- not shown here but it is the Lion, Anchor, Letter G. The smaller spoon has the letter G followed by 925/1000 (as...

Re: Unknown teaspoon
Thanks Trev. I agree on the Indian Head (good eye!).
The only info I can find on the Florence pattern is some eBay sellers. Not sure where they get their info but the pattern matches what I have.

Re: Unknown teaspoon
Hope these help. It looks a lot like an "A" before STERLING. But not sure if it's CA, EA or something else entirely. https://i.postimg.cc/nh2PjCwY/UISpoon-STERLING-cropped.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/R0TbtqsL/CA-c-Closeup-Cropped.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/tTpG0Lf2/cCloseup.jpg https://i.postim...

Unknown Cake/Pie Server
As you can see, the piece is marked STERLING but no apparent maker mark. I included the last photo because if it's a monogram, it's the most stylized I've ever seen. Anyway, would appreciate an ID. Thanks. https://i.postimg.cc/JhF0YSC8/Cake-Server.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/MTjTCtzQ/Cake-Server-Handle...

Re: Empire Sterling Weighted Dish
Thanks AG2012, The person who owned the dish didn't think it was "real silver" and so didn't treat it like the other sterling (flatware set, serving trays, etc.). I guess it pays to know what one has. The good news is that this dish got a lot of use. Could you elaborate a bit on the pictur...

Empire Sterling Weighted Dish
I'm trying to get info on the item below, which unfortunately has not been well cared-for. The mark says Empire Sterling Weighted 62. Max diameter is 6 inches, height is 2-3/4 inches. As for identification, it appears replacements.com may have garbled something, as they have the 62 pattern associate...

Markings on Egyptian Teapot
These markings are at the bottom of a teapot purchased in Egypt about 10-15 years ago. As I understand it, it was purchased as a souvenir. It's definitely not sterling and is probably silver plate. At the very least, it is metal and silver colored. I don't expect these markings to mean much of anyth...

Australian florin silver coin ring
I have a silver coin ring band that belonged to someone who served in the Pacific during WWII. It is made out of an Australian florin coin, and based on the inscriptions, it was made between 1938 and 1948. Depending on the exact date, it is either sterling or 50% silver. One thing I found is that an...

Need help on cake server
I believe this cake server is sterling as indicated by the mark in the first picture (lefthand side). The lettering is hard to read, and at the time I took the picture, I couldn't make it out. But in the picture itself, I can make myself believe it says "Sterling". However, there are no ot...

Thank you!
I'm surprised all the way around.
I'll take another look at the handles.
Thanks again.

Help on unmarked carving set
This art deco silver-plate carving set has no marks on either the knife or fork (aside from being monogrammed on the other side). That means I don't know the maker. I've gone through hundreds of photos trying to identify the pattern, but no luck. I'm looking to identify either the maker or pattern. ...
