Villasana mark in quotation marks?
I have seen many pieces from Alfredo Villasana with the eagle number 3, but in a bracelet of mine the marks are ”VILLASANA” (in quotation marks) and eagle number 213. What is the difference?

Has this AEM bangle been resized?
I have a lovely vintage sterling silver bangle signed AEM that has this mark on two places. Is this a sign of resizing or is it just the way the silversmith soldered the ends together?

Re: M&S 958 Birmingham silver marks?
I don't think it's imported? The modern mark for Britannia silver is the one in the picture (958) which replaced the lady in the cartouche in 1999.juantotree wrote:Hi,
I believe on imported Britannia std silver post 1904 it would have been marked .9584 and post 1975 .958.

Re: M&S 958 Birmingham silver marks?
So what could it be if it's both the letter and anchor in the same cartouche? Could it be all fake? I'm worried... It's hard to tell from the picture but the anchor looks really small and placed to the right in the cartouche?

Re: M&S 958 Birmingham silver marks?
My eyes could be fooling me as the marks are very blurry... Shouldn't it be a mark for imported if this is the case?

How common is it using 958 Britannia silver for jewelry?
I just bought a bracelet from Birmingham with a 958 stamp on, possibly not vintage but atleast from the 90's. When I googled 958 Britannia silver jewelry I didn't find a lot. Is it not common for use in jewelry at all nowdays? I can hardly find many vintage items as well with this amount of silver.

Re: M&S 958 Birmingham silver marks?
I zoomed in on the marks and I think the one to the right has both an anchor and the letter L next to it? This should mean it's from 1985, however I read that they didn't start marking silver with "958" before 1999? Before then it was just the old Britannia lady hallmark.

M&S 958 Birmingham silver marks?
I came across a beautiful piece of bracelet, stamped M&S 958 Birmingham and the seller believed it's from the 90's. She didn't know anything about the maker M&S more than it's not Marks & Spencer. Does someone have an idea?
