Thanks for the info, that seems like something that I will have professionally done as it doesn't seem like something I would feel comfortable doing.
Also, why would the piece have been remarked after the Russian Revolution? Was it taken and re-assayed? What was the reasoning behind this? Thanks!

Re: Weird combination of marks, help to decipher? 875 silver Jardiniere
Thank you guys!! Ag2012 I actually have the missing handle (it came off in transit and also because of a previous repair) and original glass bowl as pictured below. I am seeking to get it restored and received a quote from my local silversmith to solder the handle back on, clean, and antique it. How...

Weird combination of marks, help to decipher? 875 silver Jardiniere
I recently purchased this item and noticed it has a weird combination of marks. It is 875 silver which seems to be very uncommon for Germany. The maker appears to be Gebrüder Deyhle. The piece also contains Russian import marks as well and the assayer appears to be Kliment Zagayevksy. I believe the ...

Another little spoon, ID the maker?
The mark on the right is worn pretty well but I am 90% sure it is a Lion mark.

4 Dublin spoons, maker ID? Date?
These came in a set of 3. From what I can tell online they are from Dublin, Ireland. However, the date mark is missing..... of course. Also, the maker seems to be conflicted between 3 names. John Laughlin Senior: 1745-1774, John Lloyd Senior: 1768-1821, John Locker: 1758-1825. They also each have a ...

Many thanks, I appreciate the help! I would've never guessed Canadian. Any reason why he would use pseudo British marks along with a Scottish mark?

English marks? Any help with this spoon?
Found a spoon today and it looks quite old. The marks look like English with the lion but the other mark looks like a Thistle? I thought the Thistle was Scottish? It doesn't make any since to me... and no date letter? What is going on here? https://www.antiquers.com/attachments/20190716_174307_resiz...

Is this E. Jaccard and Co.?
I found this shell spoon today. The company was around from 1852-1901. However, when I look online all the E. Jaccard markings have an E. and Co. Would it be safe to say my spoon is indeed E. Jaccard? I can't tell if the spoon is plated or possibly coin silver? Any input is great thanks! http://www....

Re: Need help with this spoon, mystery marks?
Zurich is correct; the maker is Hans Conrad Lavater (1660-1735; master 1684). I would date this spoon around 1700. Nice find! Ref: Eva-Maria Lösel, Zürcher Goldschmiedemunst (Zürich: Berichthaus, 1983), p. 241, maker/marks #337 Thank you so much! I really am greatful for this! Any chance I could se...

Need help with this spoon, mystery marks?
Don't quite know where to post this since the region in unknown to me. I know it is silver and appears to be quite old and handmade. If anyone can shed some light that would be great. I am hoping someone may know what I have here! https://www.antiquers.com/attachments/20190526_161449_resized-jpg.181...

Need help with a maker mark + Warranted?
I have a spoon marked Ira S Town who was a known maker of coin silver spoons but unlike all the examples I have seen online this one is marked Warranted. Could this mean plated? or what? Looks and feels like solid coin silver as it is quite flexible. (admin edit - one item per topic - see Posting Re...

HELP with Diamond ring! Please...
Hey everyone found this diamond ring awhile back. It's 800 silver with a real diamond from the early 1900s The diamond is .15ct and I would LOVE to know who made it. If anyone can shed some like I'd be so grateful!! I'm assuming it's European btw. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?att...
