Re: Unknown silver marks on a Meissen tea caddy
You are right. One of the marks does look like Swedish three crown mark. It could be an import mark but in that case the shape of the mark should be oval instead of the usual trefoil. Difficult to say for sure but if I had to guess the shape is more like trefoil in this case. If the hallmarks are S...

Re: Unknown silver marks on a Meissen tea caddy
Upon review, the mark appears to resemble the Swedish 'Three Crowns' domestic control mark. However, its presence on this item raises some questions. Could it be possible that the silver was rechecked or reassessed at a later stage?

Re: G.M.SCH maker of silver notebook
Hello, not a maker's mark but the abbreviation for "Gebrauchs Muster Schutz", meaning that the mechanism is protected by German copyright laws. The maker*s mark is the animal in an oval, turned by 90 degrees, possibly Gebrueder Kuehn from Schwaebisch-Gmuend. They are known for having made...

Re: Unknown silver box maker (CM?)
To me it seems to read the maker's mark CM above 78 for C ornelis M onteban, registered in the city of Schoonhoven, 1843 till he died on 20-5-1880. He employed an engraver for some time (mechanical Rose Engine or ‘Decorative Lathe’ operator). Peter https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/800x600q70/923/...

Hello. Does anyone have any information on who this might be? There is also a letter P mark, that indicates that it was made in 1849. Not sure if anyone has this information or not, but I would like to share it. A few weeks ago I got this beautiful serving set of 2 items, made in Latvia with makers mark (AH). I found a stamp on the box which probably stands for the makers initials: A. Hellwigs, who worked in city of Jelgava. In hi...

Thank you!blakstone wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 3:31 pm Louis Jude Benoit; see this entry: Some French Advertisements and information: Louis Benoit
These distinctive Louis-Philippe sugar tongs are typical of Benoit's output.
Hope this helps!
