Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I used an online hallmark wizard which gave the year as 1808 - I won't be relying on that again! It does seem likely that Richard Macaire Ball could have been the case maker.
Regards,
Richard

Pocket Watch Case Hallmarks ID Help Please
I would be grateful if anyone could help me identify the "RA" makers mark on the case of this Brook & Son pocket watch. I am also confused by the date letter. I looks like it corresponds to London 1808 although Brook & Son were registered between 1891 until 1941 and were based at 8...

Re: "H.M.S. & CO" Silverplate Teaspoon ID Help Please
Hi Trev, Thanks for your input. I did find a company with the same initials - Herbert M Slater (1853) Ltd. They describe themselves as "Sheffield's finest manufacturer of knives, scrapers, forks, saws and scissors". I thought that, if anyone was familiar with the marks, they would be. I se...

Re: Gold Ring Found on Sussex Beach - Help with Hallmark Please
Thanks for all your replies. I have been dropping in every few days to see if there has been any information but didn't yesterday. I took the daisy-chained image below using an endoscope and it shows the hallmark more clearly. The characters are only 0.8mm high so it difficult to get a good picture....

Gold Ring Found on Sussex Beach - Help with Hallmark Please
I recently found my first gold ring whilst metal detecting on a beach in Sussex, South East England. I’ve reported it to the local police as “found property” so hopefully, it will be reunited with its owner although, despite its good condition, it could have been on the beach for years. In the meant...
