Re: Silver beaker with unknown marks
Quite often pieces that can be separated are each marked to ensure that the whole thing is solid silver. Interesting piece!

Re: Request for hallmark identification - silver chain fob
I think you're right about the maker. The other mark I can't make out.

Re: N A F and Tower maker's mark
Thank you so much for all of this information! I've saved that for my records, and really appreciate having this now! Denis Francois Franckson died on 23 Dec 1830, age 70, widower of Marie Louise Varin, and Nicolas Auguste Franckson died on 13 Dec 1847, age 64, husband of Hugette Charlet, both in Pa...

Re: N A F and Tower maker's mark
I really appreciate that! You're right about the cost of those books! That will unfortunately have to wait, but I really would like to have it at some point, for sure! My other books on French marks have so far been fairly unhelpful. My pleasure to help. Here is the full reference: Arminjon, Catheri...

Re: French Hallmark Identification
I think that might be silver plate. And if so, the number is the number of grams of silver used in plating the piece. The chalice maker's mark I'm not familiar with myself.

https://i.imgur.com/AcYFX7x.jpg https://i.imgur.com/iKunsLb.jpg https://i.imgur.com/22FMQ2t.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ZUqWsid.jpg I have been trying for a long time to find who this maker is. From the other marks it looks like Paris, 1798-1809. I found the mark on the web, but it was listed as unknow...

Re: Tastevin engraved 1807 with unknown maker's mark
On the post about the 1 being on the left of the rooster, doesn't that simply mean it's non-Paris? That's what I've seen elsewhere, or is that information wrong?
