Ring 8 kt
Hello! I would be very grateful for help. I wonder if anyone knows the brand next to 333? Could it be the manufacturer's? I know that the ring is in 8 kt and that it is probably from Germany. Considering that the fineness is only 8 kt and the person who owned it was born in Hamburg. It has a small d...

I would be very grateful for answers. Is it true that gold objects made in the 19th century were not always stamped?

Hallmarks on gold
I would be very grateful for answers. I wonder if all objects in gold are always stamped with purity in all countries? For example, 333, 580, 750, 9K, 14K, 18K. Even objects made in the 18th century? Some countries have both Hallmark and purity stamped. Do you have tips on a good site where you can ...

Re: Spoon from Denmark
Yes, my good man, Simon Groth is the guardein i.e. the assayer. He is an official who only guarantees the legal silver fineness. He has nothing to do with the manufacturing of the spoon. PLC is the maker's mark. Unfortunately unknown to me Hello! Thank you very much for the answer. Best regards Per

Re: Spoon from Denmark
Hello! I won the spoon at the auction. So now it's plastered. The silversmith is Simon Groth, made in 1873 (Copenhagen?). What I wonder is what PLC can be for stamp? I can imagine the following: 1. Is it the company that sold the spoons that had that initial? Or are they the silversmith's initials a...

Re: Silver purity
Hi, 1.It was NOT mandatory to mark silver fineness in Loth numbers. Many, many examples: town mark + maker`s mark. 2. Reichsgesetzblatt (Imperial Law Gazette),dated January 10 1886 in Berlin, published legislation (Bestimmung) of marks on gold and silver within the German empire with the following ...

Silver purity
Hello! I would be very grateful for help with some questions, regarding German silver items. 1. Items manufactured before 1886 had city marks. Was it mandatory that objects in real silver must also have a stamp of purity, for example 12 for .750? 2. Objects manufactured after 1886 had the national c...

Re: Unknown mark
Dear Per, I would gladly do my very best to answer your question, but unfortunately I don't have a microscope. Your picture has the size of an ant and it is also out of focus. In addition, I would also appreciate very much if all punches were shown. Thank you in advance. Samma sak på svenska...;-))...

Unknown mark
Hello! I would be very grateful for help. I wonder what country a silver box is from? In addition to this mark, it has the import stamp for silver (oval) and S. Which means that it is imported to Sweden. Best regards Per https://i.postimg.cc/dLXFWn9x/38-FEEC45-5509-4-B6-D-9617-5-F6-D521-B3-AC2.jpg
