Agreed Phil - maybe some similarities, but not sufficient to be a contender.
Silvermakersmarks website - what a fantastic resource, use it all the time!

Re: Help with Danish spoon
Good afternoon Jose and AG Thank you very much for your comments. I agree with Jose that the spoon is more likely to date from around 1900 rather than 1830. The design of the spoon looks like 1900 to me and I have had a number of spoons in the past that have had bowls made from old coins and they ha...

Re: Help with Danish spoon
Thank you Hose. Interesting comments on the coin. I had not considered its value (or non-value!!), but it is nevertheless a nice looking and quite large and heavy coin. Regarding the spoon, I have found a letter F in Boje's book on Danish Silver marks, for assay master Jacob Fabricius dating 1827 - ...

Yes, I see what you mean. I have looked at it under a strong magnifier but unfortunately, it does not reveal anything.
Many thanks

Help with Danish spoon
Hi All, can anyone give me more information about this spoon? I presume it is from Denmark as the bowl is formed from a Danish 4 Mark coin of 1681. It is hallmarked to the back of the stem 826 (silver standard?) and a F in a circular stamp. It is 13cm long. Many thanks John https://i.postimg.cc/Dm0R...

Well that is a surprise!! Acquired it in Cape Town a few weeks ago so it had not travelled that far.
Many thanks Trev and thanks for the links.

Unknown hallmarks
Hi all. Would be grateful for any help identifying the hallmarks on this silver paper knife. It is in the form of a sword and is 18cm long. It has a strange set of hallmarks including H1. Tests as silver. Many thanks John https://i.postimg.cc/3dhbCR17/paper1.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/BtHVKDxM/paper2....

What is this for??
Hi All. Can anyone identify the purpose of this item and possibly where it comes from. It has a deep hammered bowl over 6cm long and is attached to a simple silver chain. At the end of the chain is a cast swan or some other bird's neck. Owners initials engraved to back of the bowl. Total length 18cm...
