Thanks Byron Mac

Hi Byron Mac. Thank you so much. Actually I was laughed at when I bought this at the antique market because everyone was saying it was mismarked silverplate listed as sterling.

Need a historical perspective on my tiffany trophy cup

I acquired these tiffany trophy cups and it is marked Reproduction Original By Ludwig Heck About 1760. Was this man a german pennsylvania silversmith. If so then why is tiffany honoring him with reproducing his work. Take Care Newyorknewyork http://m1.freeshare.us/162fs28288_th.jpg http://m1.freesha...

Might be Norwegian

Hi. look in the Norwegian section of the website for hallmarks. It appears to me the Norwegian marks sometimes have an S after the 925 mark like your marks. This is for Oslo I think. Take Care / I hope this helps. Newyorknewyork

Help ID this hall amrk

This is one of two hallmarks that appears on a huge reed and barton sterling table center piece. The RD mark is self explainatory. This one is a musical score sheet and Treble sign and a note to the right. Photo is little blurry still legible. Thanks / Newyorknewyork http://m1.freeshare.us/159fs9294...

Question about the term Handwrought

I came up with a real nice piece of jewelry at a rcent auction. The item is clearly marked handwrought. Research I have done indicates this mark or term ceased its usage in the early part of the 20th century. At the same time some info I came across makes me think the term was used or applied as a m...

Greek .925 Footed Dish Bowl

This has some strange marks other then the .925. Looks like EPT / XEIPOE then .925. Intermittent perforated woven pattern on the edges coupled with what looks like repousse floral pattern. Any idea what era this from. I think it is Greek. Thanks / NewyorkNewyork http://sv1.letmehost.com/sv1/24/thumb...
