Safely removing paint
I have a Wm Rogers plate someone in the past apparently thought would look nice painted like a bloodstone jasper, At least the top side of it. Anyone know a safe way to remove the paint without messing up any more of it. Chipping doesn't seem to be a viable option. I tried some silver and silverplat...

I 'preciate the reply Tom. I had figured it was the material used to make the fork, rather than the pattern. This is the only Wm A.Rogers (Oneida owned I believe) piece I've seen made from "german silver " and haven't seen any reference to such at any of the replacement sites and collector...

Any one know how long the Wm A Rogers {GERMAN SILVER}line was produced" Reading from left to right PAT MAY 24 191(worn off), Wm. A. Rogers , then GERMAN over SILVER both inside {}, then a horseshoe with R inside that. No websites I've checked (6 to 8 hrs a day the past 11 days) even mention such.
