Thanks for your help Blakstone..
took another look at the mark and realized that the right side of it was rubbed off so I guess it's safe to assume that it was made sometime in the 1840's. If i run across Austrian makers's marks I'll post them, if that's permissable?

need help in identifying mark
I'm posting this here because I'm not sure what country it is from. It's a snuff box and it is marked MK. It also has a mark that is similar to the British registration marks but it's not exactly the same. It has letters and numbers enclosed in either a beehive or circular punch. There is a 2 above ...

Need assistance in identifying maker of this box
I believe this is an American snuff/patch box as it is only marked with initials and one pictorial device. The initials are B and then a staff of some kind followed by the letters..Fes. The pictorial is a profile of a man's head. Thanks for any light you can shed. http://aycu24.webshots.com/image/34...

Tea Caddy Spoon?
I've had this spoon for years and have always assumed it was a tea caddy spoon. Then when I look at all of the marine motifs I'm thinking maybe it's a fish sauce spoon, if there is such a thing. It seems kind of small to be a serving piece tho, It's 4.75" long. The bowl is very generous-1.75&qu...

definitely not a B. The strainer insert is hallmarked as well and it looks like this (W.I) tho the I is right up against right edge of the cartouche and only the left edges of the lower and upper horizontal bars are visible. So it could be an I or P or any letter that begins with a vertical I-beam. ...

Thanks to all for your responses. The last letter in the makers mark is really obscured tho it looks like wj in the foto. Under a loupe it could be wj or wc. Thank you Trev. I thought it was 1739 because the leopard's crown has a cross atop it. I just looked up the date letter and it matches for 182...
