Is this CJ Vander and is it Sterling?

If that bottom section slips off then it is designed to be the cup! You may find it's gold coloured inside...gilded or gold washed..this is common where the silver is used for eating or drinking something which may stain or corrode the silver...just my tuppence worth pal!!!

Overstamped Maker's Mark

Hi there..I recently acquired these nice tongs and reckon they date to 1872...Glasgow. However the maker's mark (Muirhead and Arthur) has been over stamped by that of another maker (JM & Co.) I am curious to know what the reason for this was and also for information and/or dates for JM&Co. T...

Sorry for the long delay...I've been trying to take a good close up...without success...I have however noticed that the makers mark has that sort of c or G and this dates the forks to this century? knowing that they are not really old is enough for me...thanks!
