Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me ID the hallmarks on this silver bowl I have. Some of the hallmarks are a little faded. I got this piece in a lot with some vintage stuff from the mid 1900's and some pieces from the 1800's. the hallmark with the shield almost looks like a lion to me but I'm not sure. If some one knows please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Re: Help with hallmarks on Silver piece
Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
Not a hallmark I'm afraid, that is one of the many marks used by James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield. The letters contained within the shield on the right are 'PN' above 'S' (Plated Nickel Silver).
For some of the other marks used by this firm, see: http://www.925-1000.com/silverplate_D2.html
