Post by silvercrown »

These are the last two pieces of Dutch silver from the estate sale in PA. These are my two favorites. As before, I need help with the marks. Thanks again in advnace for sharing your knowledge.

Hi Geri,

The maker’s mark appears to be: LS above an arrow for: Leendert Schenkel, registered in Schoonhoven from 1882/1904. Please check your ladle for a little date letter.

Best,

Oel.

What do you call the right-most of these three ...... maybe a date letter? :)))

Thanks for your reply. I don't know where my husband put it. I will check the ladle when he returns home.

Hi All,
Yes, altough the image is not clear, the third mark could be the date letter and perhaps the Gothic X for 1882, it appears rather small to be a worn/rubbed assay office/Minerva head. Please check the ladle for other marks.

Hi oel,

Well, I can't provide the mark for the ladle as someone bought it yesterday in our shop. She just loved it. I was able to tell her what we knew from you and she didn't seem concerned about the date. So, thanks again for all your help.
