Bergen Olsen Etft tray/teapot mark?

Post by arwKY »

Hi - I'm new to the forum! I'm seeking information on two related but slightly different marks that I think are Norwegian/Bergen marks on a small tray. I take it from other topic strings that the "GP" is for Electro-Plate? Both of the Bergen marks look very much like an Olsen Eftf mark to me, but I am new to all of this! Also, any ideas on the meaning of "26A" ? Anyone have any ideas as to dates?

Grateful for any help! Thanks, Ali.

Hi Ali,

Welcome to the Forum.

Just to confirm that the mark is that of Theodor Olsens Eftf of Bergen and that the 'GP' (Gullsmed Plett) mark does indicate the the item is silverplated.

I'm unsure of the '26A' mark meaning, it may be linked to the amount of silver deposited, see: http://www.925-1000.com/a_platenumbers.html

Hopefully someone can come up with something more concrete.

Trev.
